Why I am starting to write

Published on Jul 2, 2019

I've been reading articles and blogs about having better mornings and increasing productivity. I've incorporated some of the advice including meditation, drinking a glass of (lemon) water after getting up and having a healthy breakfast (most days it's overnight oats with fruits) with coffee, all before I leave the house. One advice that I have yet to try is writing daily.

So here's my attempt. I've written in a diary before, I use to keep one whilst I was in school. In the past couple of years, I've kept a diary beside my bed for nights when I feel very sad and need to write to write down my thoughts, but it never stuck. So this time, I'm committed to trying this for 30 days - till 31 July 2019!

For my benefit, here's why I want to do this:

1. To bring clarity to my thoughts and feelings. Very often the chatter is in my head and in my heart. I would like to take the most significant thing(s) and put them on paper (screen), to help me make sense of it.

2. To improve coherence in writing i.e. to write better. I think this is linked to 1.

I have 6 words left, and no more points to write :p Ah! now, 205 words...

That's Day 1!
