Second day.. or is it third?

It is morning. I wake up at 6. Eat my cereal, make a coffee and turn on my computer. Most people say that inspiration comes in the morning. I'm not so sure about this. Yes, I am more alert and all my thoughts race through my head. I need to dial it down a tone so I can concentrate. Concentrate on the moment, on how I feel and on what should I write about.

This is harder than I thought. I'm always wondering where do people find their inspiration to write. What do they read? How do they find their voice?
I think the best advice on this subject comes from Austin Kleon. In his book "Steal like an artist" he made a list of 10 things you should do in order to find your voice.
My favorite is "Climb your own family tree". He says we should chew on one thinker, or writer, artist activist role model. Study about them everything there is to know, then find three people that loved that person and find out everything about them. Rinse and repeat as many time as needed. And once you build your own tree, it's time to start your own branch.

I'm not sure who my first "branch" is but I loved Mark Twain as a kid. Might be a place to start.
