I think power corrupts.
Almost every time.

This year, I had a chance to meet a lot of people who are working hard to help other people. I have seen people come together in for so many different causes that it pushed me to get into that type of work for most of this year. I have always known that I belong in that type of work. This year has reminded me to find a way to get back into it.

But - I hesitate. On many occasions, I find that people with power get drunk with it.
There is a complete transformation of most people that get a new and large amount of power. The change I notice is so dramatic that it scares me. There must be something about power that people just can't be themselves. When I see a new lead or manager - suddenly begin to micromanage - I wonder - was this person always this way?

Is it the availability of power that makes people corrupt or are people mostly innately corrupt - waiting for a chance to express it?
