Post Interview Thoughts

Instinctively you know when you have had a great job interview. The conversation flows, and you connect with the people who potentially you might be working for shortly. Yesterday for myself it was that type of day.

When you go on numerous job interviews, you learn that you need to be self-aware that on paper the organization and the job sound great but is it all aligned with what you want professionally. Always go in with the mindset that you are going to your best no matter what. Allow yourself only a few minutes after you are done to question anything you said then let it go.

Yesterday I had an interview at a local company that found me online. When an organization reaches out instead of you finding them, it can be very flattering. It is an excellent indicator that your online brand - profile stands out.

The interview itself lasted over 2.5 hours. Coming from experience this organization was prepared to meet with me. First I met with human resources, then with Senior Web Analyst, lastly with the Senior Director of Technology. All three conversations were excellent. When I got back to my car I asked myself could I be happy working there. The answer is yes because the organization and position align with me professionally and personally.

On the way home I stopped for lunch at an excellent pizza place. I sat back and enjoyed lunch. I arrived home with a smile on my face, but I was exhausted.
