“I love you, Mindy”, Jeff proclaimed.

They hit their six-month anniversary yesterday. Both were protective of their hearts. Neither could say out loud how they felt these last few months.

He adored and respected her enormously. He hadn’t believed in soulmates, but she shifted his reality.

It was scary as he came from a home of alcoholic parents. He worked hard to never becoming emotionally reliant on, or attached to, anyone.

All he knew was he wanted to spend the rest of his life with this creature who possessed such a beautiful spirit.

He looked into her eyes and searched for confirmation of her feelings.

She tilted her head while appraising him and his words. A grin overtook her features. One with warmth a sunrise brings when promising a day of glorious blue skies and the sweet heat of late spring. His favorite time of year.

“I give you my fragile heart, Jeff. Please be gentle with it.”, she replied as she held his gaze.

A mischievous smirk spread across his face as he teased, “But what will you do without it?”.

They started giggling. It grew into laughter at the seriousness of it all. But also fueled by how wonderfully happy this moment was for them. They had found each other.
